Terms of use and license
These terms govern the use of Atoll (the macOS app) and of Atoll Pro licenses. Atoll is developed and licensed by [RAZÓN SOCIAL, p. ej. Proxauto, S.L.], tax ID [NIF/CIF], registered office at [Domicilio social completo] ("we"). By installing or using Atoll you accept these terms. If you don't agree, don't use it.
1. Plans
- Atoll Free is free and doesn't expire. It has the limits shown on the website and in the app (number of servers, simultaneous sessions, keys, snippets and port forwards). Production-server protection is always included.
- Atoll Pro trial: for the first 14 days after first installing on a Mac you get full Atoll Pro, no sign-up. Afterwards Atoll carries on as Atoll Free.
- Atoll Pro is a one-time purchase that unlocks every feature on the number of Macs in the license (2 or 5).
- Atoll Enterprise is governed by the conditions we agree in writing with each company and, where they are silent, by these terms.
2. License
We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to install and use Atoll on your Macs, for personal or professional purposes, on these conditions:
- An Atoll Pro license may be active at the same time on as many Macs as it includes (2 or 5). Activation ties the license to each Mac through an anonymous identifier and renews automatically when online. You can free a Mac in Settings › License (up to 3 times a month; if you need more, write to us).
- The license is perpetual for the versions released while it includes updates (12 months from purchase). Later versions may require renewing updates; the versions you have keep working.
- The license key is personal (or your company's, if it bought it). Don't publish it or share it beyond the Macs included.
You may not: decompile, disassemble or reverse engineer Atoll except to the extent the law expressly allows; circumvent its licensing or its limits; rent, sell or redistribute it; or use it for unlawful activities or to access systems without authorization.
3. Your data and your servers
Atoll works on your Mac. Your servers, passwords, keys and what happens in your terminals are not sent to our servers. You alone are responsible for the systems you connect to with Atoll, for being authorized to do so and for the commands you run. Optional features that use third-party services (for example the AI assistant with your own key, or sync through your iCloud) are also governed by those services' terms. Details in the Privacy policy.
4. Updates
Atoll can check for and install updates automatically if you allow it in its settings. We may change, improve or remove features in new versions; we won't remove features from a version you already have installed.
5. Warranty
If you are a consumer, you have the statutory conformity guarantees for digital content and services provided by law, which these terms do not limit. Beyond those statutory guarantees, Atoll is provided "as is": we don't warrant that it is error-free or fit for a particular purpose. We recommend keeping backups of your configuration; Atoll keeps automatic backups of your ~/.ssh/config before changing it.
6. Liability
We don't limit our liability for intent, gross negligence, personal injury or wherever the law doesn't allow it. Otherwise, and to the extent permitted by law: we are not liable for indirect damages or for loss of profit, loss of data or business interruption arising from the use of Atoll; and our total liability to you for any reason is limited to what you paid for the license in the previous 12 months.
7. Termination
If you seriously breach these terms (for example by publishing your key or circumventing license limits), we may revoke your Atoll Pro license after notifying you, unless the breach makes that unnecessary. Licenses that are refunded or reversed through a payment dispute are revoked. Atoll Free remains available.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes in Atoll or in the law. Changes won't affect licenses already purchased to your detriment without your consent. The current version is published on this page with its date.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of residence and may bring proceedings in the courts where you live. For any question or complaint, write to hello@atollssh.com.
